The classes at Bloom are tailored to support every body type, fitness level, and ability.We believe in the importance of not only nourishing the body – but the mind and the spirit – and our serene and spa-like facility and holistic approach to fitness will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Yoga Classes:

BEGINNER FRIENDLY CLASSES:

Bloom Beginners -The perfect place to start if you are brand new to yoga.  Focus will be on the benefits of yoga and instruction in basic postures and breath awareness. This class allows new students to experience yoga in a safe and comfortable arena. Bloom Beginners is a great place to start your Bloom Yoga journey.

Bloom Restore: Bloom Restore leads the student through a flowing blend of Restorative yoga, Gentle yoga, and guided relaxation. Poses are chosen for ease, comfort, and overall maximum health benefit and relaxation. Stability and balance are facilitated through the use of supportive bolsters, straps, and blankets. Individual student attention, achievement, and relaxation are emphasized.  All levels of practitioners are welcome.

Gentle Flow- An all levels class where students explore basic yoga postures and breathing techniques in a stress-free, non-competitive, and supportive environment.  Classes flow at a relaxed pace.  Movements are slow but deliberate, and stretching is emphasized.  Gentle Yoga is an invitation to relax, breathe, feel, and let go.   It embraces the consciousness of moment-to-moment awareness and calms the mind.  This practice supports the immune system, offers comfort to muscles, joints, and bones, and enhances overall feelings of health and wellbeing.  Each student is accommodated where they are.  Stability and balance are facilitated through the use of support props and individual student attention. No prior experience is necessary.

Chair Yoga- A gentle, yet invigorating form of yoga offering students the chance to improve strength, flexibility, circulation, and overall relaxation.  Students of all ages and levels will get to know many kinds of yoga postures and breathing techniques all while sitting or standing with the support of a chair.  While poses are adaptations of Hatha Yoga, complicated and strenuous movements are not a part of this class.  Chair Yoga can help prevent muscle loss, improve joint stability, and diminish pain and stiffness for those not otherwise able to participate in more strenuous physical activities.  Each 60 minute class generally begins with gentle stretching and relaxation, transitions into posture and breathing practice, and concludes with a centering meditation and cool down period. Students can expect to feel rejuvenated, empowered, and grounded after each class.

Mindful Meditation: Mindful Meditation helps relieve suffering and illness that can follow. The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. We do this by developing positive states of mind in meditation and integrating this experience into our daily life. Weekly classes will focus on life learning subjects such as Compassion, Life’s Choices, Balance, Expectations, and much more.

 

INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED CLASSES:

Yoga Fusion- Blends the introspective nature of Yin Yoga, the strengthening benefits of a flow sequence, and the healing qualities of Restorative Yoga. The weaving of these three styles of yoga help create a space for you to go deeper into your own personal experiences, provide support for you to reduce stress, foster mental and physical healing and wellbeing, and bring the body and mind into balance. The class begins with 15 minutes of Yin Yoga, 30 minutes of Flow Yoga, and concludes with 15 minutes of Restorative Yoga followed by a supported savasana. This is an All Levels class.

Vin and Yin Yoga: A rhythmic heated Vinyasa flow complemented by Yin yoga. Yin yoga features seated and reclining poses, which when held passively for 1-3 minutes, target the connective tissue of the hips pelvis, and lower spine. Classes will begin with a warming Vinyasa sequence of sun salutations and standing poses, and will end with a gentle yin sequence.

All Levels Flow – Designed to accommodate students of all levels. During this class, various options are given allowing the practitioner to move at their own pace and comfort level. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, Bloom All Levels is a great class to add to your practice.

Power Flow Level 1: Level I Power Flow Yoga will help tighten and tone your entire body while enhancing balance, core strength, and flexibility. Focus will be on breathing and strength building yoga poses. The result is a mind-body practice that improves health and mental acuity in people of all ages and fitness levels. The room is kept very warm, promoting a cleansing sweat.

Heated Power Flow Level 2: For students who are ready to take the next step in their practice, Our heated Power Flow will exhilarate the body and mind through a Vinyasa style sequence. Emphasis will be on movement, balance, and breath awareness. Our heated Power Flow class offers a faster pace along with a more challenging posture series, bringing students to a more advanced level. Some knowledge of posture alignment is recommended. Prepare to sweat!

 


Prenatal & Family Programs:

Blooming Bellies – A comprehensive Prenatal Yoga class to prepare women physically, mentally, and emotionally for the natural process of childbirth and motherhood. Classes increase strength, stamina, flexibility, as well as breath and body awareness while relieving the common discomforts often experienced during pregnancy. Each class concludes with 10 minutes of Yoga Nidra – a deeply transcendental form of relaxation with the potential to remove tensions and worries embedded deep in the mind concerning labor and delivery. Prenatal students should check with their physician before beginning this practice if they are experiencing any complications/concerns with their pregnancy. Blooming Bellies is a beautiful way to Bloom into motherhood.

Blooming Babies: Blooming Babies is a calming and nurturing yoga practice full of ways to enhance bonding between mommy and baby. This class will cover dozens of unique yoga postures designed specifically to soothe and support the development of a baby’s mind and body. In addition to baby’s poses, Blooming Babies also includes infant massage that benefits and stimulates your baby’s motor skills and helps them to relax. A portion of this practice contains Postnatal Yoga for mom, which helps her to ease the aches that come with supporting a new baby, gain abdominal strength and reclaim the space in her body that she gave to baby during the pregnancy. Blooming Babies creates a safe community of moms to share in the delights of motherhood. Moms should have their doctor’s or midwife’s approval before starting any physical activity after their baby’s birth. The class is taught for moms with newborns up through crawlers. This class will return to the schedule in January 2015!

Little Bloomers: Little Bloomers is a fun and playful way for parents and toddlers to interact in a safe and light-hearted environment. Through animated poses, games, music, and movement, toddlers will build coordination, balance, and body awareness while allowing parents the opportunity to connect with one another and bond with their growing tots. Bring yoga to life for your little one in this supportive, relaxed, and imaginative class. Parents may use their class cards or membership for this class. Toddlers are free! Little Bloomers is designed for children ages 18-36 months. No siblings, please. This class will return to the schedule in January 2015!

Family Yoga: Bloom’s Family Yoga classes incorporate lessons in creativity, positive thinking, personal and environmental awareness and most of all FUN, offering you and your kids an opportunity to wind and unwind in a supportive, safe environment! Please join us for this lighthearted, playful class. While all ages are welcome, we’ve found that kids ages 4-10 do best. Family Yoga meets the first & third  Sunday of each month. This class will return to the schedule in January 2015!

Yoga for Tweens: Tween yoga classes teach age appropriate yoga games, breathing techniques, postures, and relaxation tools. Through yoga, Tweens learn how to relax and interact in a nurturing and non-competitive environment, while increasing flexibility, strength, and muscle tone. Yoga can be an important sanctuary for “Tweens”, a place to develop self-confidence, body awareness, balance, and a sense of harmony, all while having fun! While all ages are welcome, we’ve found that kids ages 9-12 do best. This class will return to the schedule in January 2015!

 


Fitness Classes:

BEGINNER FRIENDLY:

B-Fit Beginner’s Fitness: B-Fit combines low impact cardiovascular movement, resistance training, core strengthening, and stretching for the beginner exerciser. Through easy-to-follow resistance training and cardiovascular exercises, combined with basic yoga stretches, B-Fit will condition the entire body and improve overall fitness in an upbeat, supportive, and welcoming environment. This class is perfectly suited for the novice exerciser looking to become familiar with basic strength and conditioning moves or for those participants who are reintegrating fitness into their wellness routine. NO prior experience is necessary! B-Fit is welcoming to every body type and fitness background! Modifications will be offered for the intermediate exerciser and all levels are welcome!

INTERMEDIATE:

Barre Strength: Barre Strength is a unique combination of yoga, pilates, strength training, and ballet-barre technique. Classes begin with a muscle sculpting mat sequence which incorporates the use of strength building yoga postures and simple resistance training exercises to sculpt and define the upper body and core. This section is followed by a spot-toning barre sequence at the ballet barre to strengthen and define the thighs and glutes. Deep, full-body stretching is incorporated throughout the workout to encourage the development of long, lean muscles. Barre Strength is an upbeat, fun, and dynamic class that is suitable for all levels.

Barre Cardio: Barre Cardio combines the grace of ballet, the strength of yoga, and the power of aerobic training for a muscle-sculpting, fat-burning class that tightens and tones the entire body. Classes begin with a muscle sculpting barre sequence that targets the thighs, glutes, abdominals, and arms. This sequence is followed by  a dynamic cardio routine that incorporates intense yet easy-to-follow movements inspired by ballet, designed to burn body fat and get the heart-rate pumping. Barre Cardio is an energetic and upbeat class that is suitable for all levels!

Yoga Sculpt: Yoga Sculpt is a total body workout designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group. Dumbbells are incorporated in this class as students are guided through a vigorous series of postures intended to reshape muscles and promote a cleansing sweat. This intense, but easy-to-follow program complements your regular yoga practice while pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights.

Bloom HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training): Bloom HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is an intense, time-efficient form of interval training that conditions the whole body; creating strength, stamina and overall physical fitness. Circuit-based, HIIT classes offer alternate periods of intense exercise with lower-intensity recovery periods. No prior experience is necessary, as the 45-minute classes are suitable for participants of all fitness levels. Our trainers will always offer modifications according to the participants ability while encouraging students to reach for their highest and best performance.

Core Pilates: This Pilates based mat workout will target and challenge the abdominals, back, and hips and help participants develop leaner, longer-looking muscles. You will learn how to effectively strengthen the core using proper form and technique. By building core strength, you will be able to improve your posture and ward off low back pain, while establishing abdominal stability, and heightening mind-body awareness. All levels are welcome. No Pilates experience is necessary.

Piloxing: Piloxing uniquely mixes pilates and boxing moves into a fat torching, muscle sculpting, core centric interval workout, guaranteed to whip you into shape. Using a class format that’s both fun and challenging, Piloxing blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. This class also includes some dance moves that reflect powerful self images. In addition to Pilates and boxing movements, the exercise incorporates the use of optional weighted gloves (not included) which add to the workout by toning the arms and maximizing cardiovascular health.

PiYo Strength: PiYo Strength is a powerful and dynamic, total-body workout that consists of low-impact, high-intensity movements inspired by pilates, yoga, core conditioning, dance, and athletic drills. Through a rhythmic flow of exercises, participants will build stability, strength, and flexibility, all while blasting away calories and working up a cleansing sweat. Short bursts of cardiovascular work and strength training for all over body conditioning, will sculpt and tone the body from head to toe. With upbeat music and energetic choreography, this fun and vibrant all-levels class will leave you feeling positive and strong.
